Fenner Dunlop Americas combines ISO 9001:2000 Certification

Fenner Dunlop Americas is pleased to announce that as of April 20, 2007, it has attained ISO 9001:2000 certification for all five plants which includes Corporate Leadership.
ISO 9001 is a globally recognized standard that provides a framework for effective Quality Management. ISO9000 and its sister standard for environmental management – ISO 14000 has been implemented in nearly 900,000 organizations in 161 countries.
Fenner Dunlop Americas has adopted ISO9001 quality system standard as the foundation for improving product quality, service and overall value to the customer.
Organizational Wide Approach
After the Fenner PLC acquisition of Georgia Duck in 2001, Fenner Dunlop saw the need to pursue ISO Certification as a consolidated business unit versus 5 separate plants. As a growing organization, this combined effort would strengthen our overall quality system and accelerate our continuous improvement activities.

At that point, Fenner Dunlop was registered to the old ISO standard, under multiple registers and the Charlotte, NC, plant was not certified. By 2004, all the Fenner Dunlop Americas facilities had been certified to the new standard.
To further evolve the company’s quality system to support future business needs, the decision was made in 2005 to combine the facilities under one certificate. A multi-site assessment would provide a synergistic approach that would promote cross-functional understanding and help improve the quality of our operations. This new mission included Fenner Dunlop Corporate functions, thus providing end-to-end interaction.
Fenner Dunlop Americas attained multi-site certification on April 20, 2007. The time and effort made to achieve and maintain muti-site ISO 9001 certification is a tremendous reflection of Fenner Dunlop Americas commitment to excellence as the company strives "to supply products that meet our customers’ expectations".
Geoff Normanton, Alan Levesley, Emily Lykins, Doug Nason, John Hardwick, Dan Hoca, Jay Lee and Corrina Barnes helped spearhead this initiative in the various facilities. However, we are very proud of the entire workforce who worked hard to help us achieve this milestone. - Congratulations to the entire Fenner Dunlop Americas team!
People Create Quality
Fenner Dunlop Americas recognizes that developing its employees is key to its mission of being a ‘world-class’ company. In its strategy to adopt an organizational wide approach to quality management, members of the Technical/Quality team were given the opportunity to enhance their individual skills through education, training and team building projects.
Training recently completed included: Six Sigma, Internal Auditor, Lead Auditor, Root Cause Analysis and Leadership. This investment in people not only brings new skills to strengthen the organization, but also serves to increase the satisfaction and commitment of the individual.
